My Gospel

.

Romans 16:25,26
Now to Him who is of power (able) to establish you according to my gospel, and (which is) the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the writings of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to (eis – unto) all nations for (eis – unto) the obedience of faith.

This is one of my favorite sections of Scripture.  There is so much truth in so few words.  Following are some of the teachings on this website which have addressed the truths found in these 2 verses.

power  – What is the POWER of God?    Power and Authority
my gospel –   What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and How to Preach It.                                   An Un-Polluted Gospel       Half a Gospel
preaching –  Do not preach the Old Testament.
Jesus Christ  –  The Glorified Christ
the mystery  –  The Mystery of Christ     Aspects of the Mystery of Christ
made manifest  –  The Manifestation of the Spirit
writings of the prophets  –  What is the Word of God
commandment of God  –   The Law of God   Learning to Recognize the Voice of God
made known  –  How God Knows
the obedience of faith –  The Obedience of Faith    How Christ is Building His Church

In this study I want to focus on the term “my gospel.”  I want you to understand completely what my gospel …. the gospel of Steve Hartlaub …. is.

My gospel is so completely unique to me, because it is the revelation of the spirit of Christ within, which has not only been born within me, making it my new nature, but which has from that new birth onward been my most intimate  instructor, guide and inner strength.  It is more intimate to me than my relationship with my wife, children or closest friends.

Galatians 1:11,12
II Peter 1:4
II Corinthians 5:17,18
I John 2:27
Romans 8:14
Ephesians 3:14-16

My gospel is not only the “message of good” which I bring by speaking and writing; my gospel, my “good news”, is actually …… me!  Not the old man, but the new man, which is created in the image of God, and is more and more growing into that image of Him (God) who created him (Christ) within me.  For you who have been a part of my life for any length of time, you have experienced the revelation of the Christ within me at the very time it has happened; besides that you have seen the growth of Christ within me from one day to the next ……. and knowing what I used to be like, that is “good news” indeed!

Galatians 1:15,16a
II Corinthians 4:4-6  (“knowledge = experiential knowing)
II Corinthians 3:3, 17,18
Colossians 3:9,10 (“knowledge” = experiential knowing)
Galatians 4:19
Ephesians 3:8

My gospel does not include the preaching of sin, for it is not a fleshly gospel of law and bondage and behavior modification and corruption and never being good enough and condemnation and judgment and death and who is going to heaven and who is going to hell and what is sin and what is not sin and whose works are good enough and whose are not, for no one’s works are good enough or righteous enough for God …… ever!  (except Jesus Christ).  If it’s not Christ, it’s sin!  If it’s Christ, it’s never sin!  So why preach sin?  Preach Christ!

Galatians 3:2,3
Galatians 5:1-6
Romans 8:21
Romans 8:1-8
I Corinthians 4:1-5

Galatians 4:21-31
Galatians 3:24-26
II Corinthians 3:6-11
Romans 10:6,7
Romans 3:19-23

My gospel begins at the cross of Christ, and being established upon the complete and utter identification with that accomplished work, where my old identity has been fully laid down at his cross,  the new me then adventurously sallies forth into those gloriously rewarding spiritual places where Christ is seated at his Father’s right hand and who not only beckons me onward, but smooths the way with our (his and my) heavenly Father.  This he does in the most intimate way, by giving me his own mind (way of thinking).

I Corinthians 1:22,23
I Corinthians 2:2-6
Galatians 2:20,21
Philippians 13,14
Colossians 3:1-4
Colossians 2:2,3
Ephesians 1:3-12
Ephesians 3:20-22
Ephesians 3:7-11
Romans 8:32-34
I Corinthians 2:16

My gospel is that Christ has sealed the fate of my old man of sin in the presence of his Father by his unrighteous demise at the hand of the enemy of his Father, which unrighteous act has condemned and exposed to all mankind the devil as the father of all lies and sin.  Furthermore, Christ has, in his glorified state, given his new life to me in such an intimate fashion that it is born within me and grows within me as being my very nature, which nature has inherently all the qualities of Christ himself who gave it.  It is my destiny to become like Christ, starting now in this life and continuing in my new glorious body for all eternity in the ever-expanding new heaven and new earth which is to come.

II Corinthians 5:14,15
John 16:7-11
Romans 5:10, 16-21
Romans 6:10,11
Colossians 3:10
Romans 8:29
John 17:21-26
Colossians 1:26-28
I Corinthians 15:42-57
Philippians 3:20,21 (“conversation” = citizenship)

And finally, my gospel brings the real and dynamic lordship of Jesus Christ as a very present and practical living reality to the heart of those who hunger and thirst for the truth of God.  Where Christ is your head and you need no other.  My gospel is a threat to the established, organized religious church (what man calls the church) because the truth of my gospel is always breaking new ground, and its truth can never be contained within a hierarchal organization of rules and guidelines and following an earthly leader and “this is the way we do things around here.”  Honestly, after more than 40 years, I’m still learning “how we do things around here!”

II Thessalonians 2:10
Matthew 5:6
Romans 10:8-10
Ephesians 4:11-16
Colossians 3:23,24
Galatians 5:29
John 16:2,3
I Thessalonians 2:14-16
II Corinthians 5:17,18

I’ll leave you with this:

II Thessalonians 2:14  Whereunto (salvation) He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

About stevehartlaub@gmail.com

I'm a 73 year old spiritual adventurer in life, but I don't really get along with organized religion. I find it too passive, too worldly, too conforming, too powerless ... though I know many wonderful believers involved in it. I have been a seeker of Jesus Christ since 1974 in Ketchikan, Alaska. Very early into my spiritual journey, I came to the realization that I wouldn't be able to last long in this new Godly relationship without becoming able to understand the Bible. God supplied that need, and shortly thereafter I became interested in Biblical research ... Greek, word studies, HOW the Bible is designed to be understood, its customs, etc. I married Sharon in 1985 in Vancouver, Canada. I have 5 children - 3 girls, 2 boys....ages 30-36. All were homeschooled. 3 are happily married. I have 8 grandchildren. I have taught and studied the Word of God in informal gatherings in England, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Canada, Alaska, Nevada and all over the United States. In 2006 I became aware of God calling me into the revelation of the glorified Christ within, and I have been involved in making that revelation known since then. I recently moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, after living in Fitchburg, Wisconsin (suburb of Madison) since 1990.. If you're ever in the area, please look me up. I am a retired house painter, and God is providing for my wife and I abundantly! I am meek to the instruction of God...which often occurs while another person is speaking! So don't be afraid to comment on any of these studies. Because my heart is open to my master teacher, Jesus Christ!
