In Tune with God

.

.

Harmonic:  “1) an overtone accompanying a fundamental tone at a fixed interval, produced by vibration of a string, column of air, etc., in an exact fraction of its length; 2)  a component frequency of an oscillation or wave.

One could say that 2 is an harmonic of every even number (4,6,8,10,etc), because it’s an exact fraction.  But 5 is not an harmonic of 7, 9,11, etc.

Therefore speak I to them in parables; because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.  And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says, By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand, and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive; For this people’s heart is grown fat, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.  Matthew 13:13-15

In order to understand harmonics, we have to understand frequency, which is:
the rate at which a vibration occurs that constitutes a wave, either in a material (as in sound waves), or in an electromagnetic field (as in radio waves and light), usually measured per second.

Sound waves less than 20 Hertz or more than 20,000 Hertz are undetectable to the human ear.   Movie films show at a rate of 24 frames per second, which the human eye can not detect, but rather deciphers as a continual motion.  If you were to stand in front of a large woods, you would be able to easily see individual trees, but as you backed up you would eventually get to a point where the ability to see individual trees becomes impossible, and the woods would appear as a solid mass.  A dog whistle can be heard by dogs but not humans.  These are examples of things undetectable to the human eye or ear.

According to ed.ted.com: “Each kind of light has a unique wavelength, but human eyes can only perceive a tiny slice of the full spectrum — the very narrow range from red to violet. Microwaves, radio waves, x-rays and more are hiding, invisible, just beyond our perception.”

Now reread the verses in Matthew.  Jesus is very clearly telling us that God, his Father, exists and communicates in a wavelength, or visual range that is invisible and undetectable to the human eye and ear.  How, then, is it possible to see and to hear God?

No man has seen God at any time.  The only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared Him (has led him out into the open).  John 1:18

And the Father Himself, Who has sent me, has borne witness of me.  You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His shape.  And you have not His word abiding in you; for whom He has sent, him you believe not.  John 5:37, 38

God exists and operates at a frequency unable to be seen or heard by the human senses of sight and hearing.  This does not mean He does not exist, or that He can not have an effect in this world.  How many of you have seen microwaves?  I mean the waves themselves?  Yet you have most probably benefitted from their ability to heat food.

Jesus came to  reinstall in man the ability to perceive God and walk in harmony with Him by providing the ability to be tuned to God’s wavelength (so to speak).  When that happens, where your understanding, perception, belief and the expression of these things is in harmony with God, life becomes a glorious spiritual flow in the current of God.  Life becomes more and more effortless, more and more rewarding and enjoyable as all the decisions we partake of happen within the frequency of God’s loving, powerful presence.  Life is no more a moral choice between right and wrong, but rather the choice is how we want to individually walk in the expression of the life of Christ within.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.  And all things are of God, Who has reconciled us (brought us into harmony) to Himself by Jesus Christ and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation.  That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling (bringing into harmony) the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word  of reconciliation.  II Corinthians 5:17-19

When Adam and Eve sinned, their lives became disharmonious to God’s life.  Like being out of key when singing a song, man’s life became incongruent with fruitfulness, reward, power, fullness, success.  Instead, disharmony with the life and provision of God became the new normal, until destruction (both toward self and toward others) infested the whole earth.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  Genesis 6:5

The story of the flood is not the story of God punishing mankind, but of God saving mankind.  As the same boiling water will soften a potato, yet harden an egg; so the same God who gives life and light and love is destructive to death and darkness and evil.

Jesus Christ was and is God’s solution to man becoming “out of key” with God’s song of life.  Once out, man found himself unable to find his way back.  By the life’s work of Jesus Christ, God enabled man to come back into harmony with Himself, to the end that life once again becomes pleasing, enhancing, enriching, empowering and fruitful.  What man can not do for himself, God has done for (and does in) us by means of Jesus Christ.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled (brought into harmony) to God by the death of His son; much more, being reconciled (in harmony) we shall be saved (brought into wholeness) by his life (in us).  And not only this, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement (reconciliation- restoration of harmony) Romans 5:10,11

Being brought into tune with God, that harmony which is God can then begin its powerful, dynamic, overflowingly abundant work in our lives.  Once harmonious with God, our lives can then begin to be transformed into what God has always intended.

As to the exact harmonic each person is to be in this life, tuned to God’s frequency or overall harmony, that is where the power to choose is so important.  Like a barbershop quartet, each individual’s unique, harmonious expression of the Christ within results in a glorious, melodious song of infinite potentialities.

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding of the mystery of God … Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and experiential knowing.  Colossians 2:2,3

So as God is the overall frequency in the life of creation, we as His children are each and every one a unique harmonic of God, joined together by His spirit of the Christ within, in a harmony of infinite and eternal proportions.  You enjoy a 4-part harmony?  The body of Christ is a billions-part harmony, forever reaching its crescendo as the glorious creation of God moves forward in its timeless song of glory to its Creator.

From whom (Christ) the whole body  fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.  Ephesians 4:16

About stevehartlaub@gmail.com

I'm a 73 year old spiritual adventurer in life, but I don't really get along with organized religion. I find it too passive, too worldly, too conforming, too powerless ... though I know many wonderful believers involved in it. I have been a seeker of Jesus Christ since 1974 in Ketchikan, Alaska. Very early into my spiritual journey, I came to the realization that I wouldn't be able to last long in this new Godly relationship without becoming able to understand the Bible. God supplied that need, and shortly thereafter I became interested in Biblical research ... Greek, word studies, HOW the Bible is designed to be understood, its customs, etc. I married Sharon in 1985 in Vancouver, Canada. I have 5 children - 3 girls, 2 boys....ages 30-36. All were homeschooled. 3 are happily married. I have 8 grandchildren. I have taught and studied the Word of God in informal gatherings in England, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Canada, Alaska, Nevada and all over the United States. In 2006 I became aware of God calling me into the revelation of the glorified Christ within, and I have been involved in making that revelation known since then. I recently moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, after living in Fitchburg, Wisconsin (suburb of Madison) since 1990.. If you're ever in the area, please look me up. I am a retired house painter, and God is providing for my wife and I abundantly! I am meek to the instruction of God...which often occurs while another person is speaking! So don't be afraid to comment on any of these studies. Because my heart is open to my master teacher, Jesus Christ!
